It was a hot, soupy night in London on Saturday, and I had a party to go to. I had a momentary ‘what should I wear????!?’ dilemma, before remembering this beautiful dress. It’s summery, it’s kinda sexy, it’s the perfect length on me, and has my favourite neckline. Simply Be gifted it to me a while ago and the weather and occasion has never been quite right for it- until now. I love it. I think it’s going to be my staple summer party dress for 2015.
And the shoes: I have had a world of trouble with Evans shoes recently. I’ve bought three pairs in the past three months, the first of which shredded my heel so badly there was (look away if you’re squeamish) actual blood and a gaping wound, the second of which I had to return the day after I wore them for the first time because they broke while on my feet, and the third are these. These are the shoes I’ve been waiting for all along. Something flat, comfortable and feminine, that I can wear with dresses and jeans. When you’re a size 9 extra wide / a size 10 regular, you’re super limited to where you can buy affordable, feminine shoes, so it sort of feels Evans has me in a stranglehold while not actually providing me with what I need. I do not need shoes that break after one wear. So yes, was very relieved to have found these, and I like them so much I might get them in multiple colours!
