Personal training

Square

I am a qualified Level 3 personal trainer. I specialise in working over Zoom with clients who might be nervous or intimidated around exercise and fitness spaces, and help them figure out what feels good to them, in their own space. If you have specific performance or aesthetic goals, I am probably not the trainer for you! If you want to dedicate a bit of time to yourself and to movement in a non-scary way, I might be the trainer for you.

Basic information

How does it work?

You have a regular slot at the same time every week, and I currently only work as a PT on Thursdays. You are at home, I am at home. We meet over Zoom, and I take you through a personalised movement session that fits your needs/energy level/fitness level/injuries/likes and dislikes etc, with the knowledge that these things are ever-changing.

How much does it cost?

£38 per 50-minute session.

What kind of commitment do I have to make?

I generally ask people to commit to four sessions at a time, and I only offer weekly slots.

I live in a small flat! How much space do I need?

If you have floor space for a yoga/exercise mat, you have enough space!

What equipment do I need?

The mat is the only part that’s pretty much non-negotiable. As well as the mat, I can recommend an item of resistance training equipment that’s appropriate for you. Just to give you an idea, for most clients I recommend an 8kg kettlebell, but some clients use dumbbells, some use resistance bands. You don’t need lots of stuff to get a full-body workout, I promise!

I have some health issues- will that be a problem?

This depends – you have to fill out a brief questionnaire before we can work together because I am not insured or qualified to work with people who have heart conditions, or are pregnant or have given birth in the past six months. Beyond that, it’s something you should talk to your doctor about and use your judgment. Several of my clients have chronic illnesses, and I rely on them to give me accurate feedback on how they’re feeling and the kinds of movements that might make them feel better or worse, but it doesn’t inherently have to be a barrier to us working together.

What’s your cancellation policy?

I’m a self-employed one-person business so I need 24 hours’ notice! If you cancel with less than 24 hours’ notice, it will ‘count’ as a session. If you know you’re going to be away or unavailable for your regular slot one week, I can generally accommodate you at a different time that week if you’d rather not miss a sesh.
