I Bought Something Useful.

I’m completely and absolutely overwhelmed by the response to my ‘fatpost’. I’m genuinely very touched and never, ever expected it to spread as far or as well as it did. I’m grateful there’s such a community of compassionate people who care about what I have to say, and I’m so glad I could contribute in a positive way to 5 minutes of one day.
Back to business.
I have lots of frivolous clothes but only occasionally do I buy things that may be commonly perceived as ‘useful’. I found that working at a ladies’ fashion magazine has made me painfully aware of the fact I don’t own a black blazer, and how useful such an item might be. So I ordered this one off ASOS using the logic that really it could not possibly be a bad idea. I love it, and believe it’s definitely an asset to my wardrobe. Most of all I love the shoulder-pads.
The more I look at this photo, the more I realise how serious I look. I’m probably the least serious person I know. I’ll try to look terribly amused in my next post, promise.

  1. I don't own a blazer either but I've been looking for one for a while – I just can't seem to find one that isn't too long or too boxy!

That one is really lovely and it suits you, I love the length and shape of it! xo

  2. I don't think I could live without at least one black blazer any more than I could live without at least 40 little black dresses… Great outfit, loving the scarf. I just bought a leopard scarf (in blue rather than pink, to wear with a navy dress for an interview for a job I didn't get) and am wearing it a LOT.

  3. Massive, massive outfit envy right here. I really need a new black blazer but I met someone at LFW this Feb who had an amazing rust coloured one and now I want that too….

  4. My 'black blazer' is infact a brown pinstripe one. It does the trick though!
