VoucherCodes challenged me to assemble 3 outfits for the upcoming season featuring the mixed patterns and prints trend. I had £80 to spend on at least 3 current season high street items to wear in 3 different situations, and here are the fruits of my labour! Gotta be honest, I had a lot of fun perusing the high street for the boldest, cutest prints and patterns! This is a trend that’s right up my street. I managed to get more than 3 items I really loved, which were, in outfit 1, the black + white dress, in outfit 2, the scarf and hairband, and in outfit 3 the jacket and skirt. Not so bad for £80!
So the first outfit is for being delightfully lazy and comfortable in. I bought the dress in Monki which is a shop I just love. I could wear pretty much everything they make and whenever I buy something from there I wear it to death. I thought this would go nicely with a printed cardigan for effort-free days.
Dress : Monki (S)
Cardigan : Topshop (UK 16)
Leggings : New Look (UK 16)
Shoes : Dorothy Perkins
Second outfit mixes the new accessories I bought for the challenge with an old favourite – my ugly shirt. The hairband is similar colours and pattern to the shirt, but the scarf is a beautiful print that I just decided on because I loved it. I guess this is why I like patterns and prints so much: they work with my messy, unthoughtful approach to colour and style!
Shirt : British Heart Foundation in Deal
Jeans : Evans (UK 18)
Shoes : Topshop
Scarf : River Island
Headband : River Island
And for the final outfit, what I wore to hang out with my fellow fatshion blogger pals on Tuesday for drinks, lols and looking at incredibly fancy clothes at LFW. This feels like a really easy, natural outfit where I get to mix prints without being particularly obnoxious about it. This is my favourite outfit, I think, because it’s relaxed but still cute.
Jacket : New Look Inspire (UK 18)
T-shirt : Topshop (UK 16)
Skirt : New Look Inspire (UK 18)
Shoes : Dorothy Perkins
So there you have it! Loadsa prints for the impending A/W!
