You know when you put on an outfit and you look at yourself and realise it’s only all from the same bleedin’ shop? Well, today was one of those days. I wouldn’t even say I’m a particular devotee to H&M. I find their Divided range to be of pretty shoddy quality, and their sizing is simply terrible (case in point: I wear a size 16-18 absolutely everywhere, but in a moment of madness ordered some skinny combats in a size 20 from H&M’s plus size range BiB. I think I’m onto a winner and that this can’t possibly go wrong, until they arrive and are stopped in their tracks by my pulpy thighs. No combats for Bethany). But here I am, flying the flag for the Swedish giant.
Oh and another thing: skirts. Not being freakishly tall, I wouldn’t expect to have such trouble finding skirts that don’t show off my knickers to the whole world. I’m usually more selective about who gets that honour. So it was a pleasant surprise to see a skirt of a length that doesn’t give so much as a hint of thigh, let alone buttock, and I duly shelled out the thirty quid to own this lovely, swingy, dark denim creation. Thankyou H&M, you may have redeemed yourself for the combat debacle.
