Bits & Pieces.

So, today’s post is a proper mixed bag with a few new faces!
On Saturday I was lucky enough to have breakfast with the gorgeous Charlotte of What Charlotte Eats and there was no way I was going to let her get away without an outfit photo. Charlotte is a personal heroine of mine, not least in terms of style. Suffice to say, it was a good breakfast.

Isn’t she a beauty?
That evening I went out for Lucy’s birthday. Lucy was one of my long-suffering housemates in my second year at university. She is exceptionally stylish in a very clean, classic way. I’ve often bemoaned the fact that I don’t have Lucy’s wardrobe / style, but I know I’d just mess it up if I did!
Dress : Louche at Joy
Heels : Russell & Bromley
And this is Emma, also one of my old housemates. Emma has politely requested then not-so-politely demanded to be included in my blog for a while, and it was only last week when she used the argument that if Mark could be in it then she should be too (I’d declined her on the basis she wasn’t a chubby girl, so when I caved for her I also decided to include Lucy because it was her birthday!)
Also, Emma just got her braces off and I’d never seen her teeth before, so here’s a grand unveiling!
Dress : Urban Outfitters
Necklace : Topshop
Bag : Topshop

Ok, so last week I posted my beloved red leopard print scarf. This week I give you my other new favourite accessory. I never thought this day would come, but I am in love with a backpack. In the past, I’d written backpacks off as impossible to make stylish, and distinctly un-me. But then Zoe of Vagabond Language showed me this absolute gem, and I’d been looking for a not-too-expensive backpack to carry my laptop around in. I used to take my laptop to and from uni in Montréal all the time, and even though it was no more than a 15 minute walk, my shoulders really suffered, so a backpack was the only answer. And what a backpack it is! I’m crazy in love with it. I love galaxy print and everything to do with it, I only wish I could afford me some Christopher Kane. For now, this will have to do. It’s Peter Pilotto for Kipling, and they’re not in stock anymore but pretty readily available on Ebay should you like the look of mine.
Annnd yesterday’s outfit! I didn’t really jump on the Peter Pan collar bandwagon, but this is my concession to the trend that’s already passed. This top is so cute it’s sick, and my clever old mum got it for me for my birthday from Uniqlo. It’s a slightly awkward length for me to wear with jeans/leggings at the moment, but it works with skirts so here goes.
(Sorry, this isn’t the best picture in the world but it was so windy yesterday that it was impossible to accurately photograph a skirt…)
Top : Uniqlo
Skirt : H&M
Plimsolls : Primark
How do you feel about this distinctly un-cohesive post? Did it drive you a bit crai crai, or is a little patchwork of fashion good for you?

  1. Can you really fit a laptop in that? It looks so dinky! Absolutely gorgeous though, I love anything galaxy too. Have you seen Galaxy nails? They're my new obssession 🙂

  2. I loooove my backpack too! So much good fashuun in this post. Charlotte looks beautiful – I love that hair length on her and her jacket fits her superbly!

  3. Ace backpack! I love your skirt too! Midi skirts are brilliant.

Charlotte's outfit – proving that a biker jacket and a floaty dress a la Kristy Swanson always works.

Lucy's outfit – Red dress and black heels – can't go wrong!

Emma's outfit – love the chain, love the print. Also, diversity is a good thing!
